Students in Mechanical Engineering can enjoy the opportunity of having hands-on experience in the workplace through either an internship or cooperative education (“co-op”) program. These assignments offer valuable work experience, while enhancing the academic program. These opportunities are generally paid positions and are supplemental to the academic program. Therefore, all students participating in a co-op or internship program must complete all of their normal requirements for graduation.
Over the last few years, our students have worked in many well-known companies, such as First Energy, Taylor-Winfield Corp., Parker Hannifin Corp., General Extrusions, Caterpillar, Inc., Delphi Packard Electric Systems, MGM Brakes, WCI Steel, Alcoa, Fireline, Honda of America, and many others.
