Where Will You Learn?

Where are journalism classes offered?

Many journalism classes are offered in Fedor Hall, next door to The Jambar offices.

But don't get too comfortable.

As journalism majors, your best work will be done on campus and in the community. Journalism majors are expected to work on one or more of our campus media outlets and partnerships that include: The Jambar student newspaper, YSU News Service, The Yo Magazine and WYSU radio. Many journalism courses require travel for specialized reporting trips where you may find yourself in the mine country of rural West Virginia, the military bases of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, the defunct steel mills of Pennsylvania, or on a canoe drawing water samples from the Mahoning River.

But when you are ready to write and produce your stories, we have the facilities and the technology that will allow you to produce great work. Journalism facilties include labs with the latest design and editing software, podcasting and production suites, radio and broadcast studios and field equipment students may use on a regular basis.
