The Jambar Media Organizations

The Jambar newspaper is published twice a week in accordance with the academic calendar of Youngstown State University. The publication has won numerous awards from the Society for Collegiate Journalists and the American Scholastic Press Association.

Thejambar.com is an online publication which supplements the print version of the Jambar. thejambar.com is updated daily and includes traditional news reporting and a variety of multimedia news stories. Check us out at thejambar.com.

The *yo magazine is a regional magazine aimed at college aged residents of the Mahoning Valley. The magazine was started in 2007 at the request of YSU journalism students and was recently awarded the Best in Show prize at the 2008 Fall convention of the Associated Collegiate Press.

All students at Youngstown State University who are interested in journalism are welcome to work for any of these organizations. Each Spring semester the Student Publications Board hires paid staff for the upcoming year.
