Advanced Camp: After the completion of the MSIII year the cadets attend a six week camp in Ft. Lewis, WA. At camp they are evaluated on such things as leadership ability, mental stamina, teamwork, physical fitness. Camp includes free food, free room and transportation to and from camp. Cadets are also paid for their time at camp. Advanced Camp is worth 4 credit hours.
Advanced Course: (juniors and seniors) concentrates on tactical operations and military instruction, as well as advanced techniques of management, leadership, and command. Once entering the Advanced Course you also agree to accept a federal commission and an assignment in either the active duty or the reserve forces.
APFT: Army Physical Fitness Test, test given to evaluate ones physical endurance. Events include pushups, sit-ups and a 2-mile run.
Basic Camp: six week course conducted during the summer which replaces the Basic Course and is worth 4 credit hours. Camp includes free food, free room and transportation to and from camp. Cadets are also paid for their time at camp.
Basic Course: (freshman and sophomores) studies Army history, organization and structure. The techniques and principles of leadership and management are stressed throughout. No military commitment or obligation is incurred during the Basic Course. Students may withdraw anytime before their third year.
BDU: Battle Dress Uniform (fatigues, the camouflage uniform)
Cadet: any student that signs up for ROTC.
Cadre: the Army Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers that teach all the ROTC classes and give guidance to the cadets.
Class A Uniform: our dress uniform, used for more formal functions and events.
Contracted Cadet: a cadet that has made a commitment to serve in the Army upon graduation.

HOAH!: Reply to any question that requires a positive response, Yes, Amen, Roger, Okay, Understood, etc...
MRE: Meals Ready to Eat, basically food in a bag (but I must add they are pretty darn good).
MSI: first year cadet (freshmen)
MSII: second year cadet (sophomore)
MSIII: three year cadet (junior)
MSIV: four year cadet (senior)
PT: Physical Training, basically anything we do to sweat and get in shape. The main reason for PT is to not only to increase the physical fitness of the cadets but to also prepare them for the APFT.
SMP: Simultaneous Membership Program, program designed for cadets who have a commitment to the National Guard or Army Reserves to allow them to continue there service and receive an Army commission upon graduation.
Stipend: a fixed sum of money paid periodically for services or to defray expenses. (Basically its the money you get when you become a contracted cadet.)
