We have seen a significant increase in users on all social and new media sites as the popularity of these mediums increases. Our focus is on employing these sites to interact and inform those users about Youngstown State University while maintaining quality and purpose.
Each site now has built-in demographics to tell us more about our audiences. We foresee being able to engage Facebook, YouTube and Twitter as major marketing vehicles with little overhead involved. Audiences won't necessarily need to visit our main website to become informed about our programs and degrees, and we are working to integrate the three platforms with one another to create a smooth synergy of imaging and messaging YSU’s strengths.
Banner Display Ads
On October 12, 2011, YSU started running a display campaign in the greater Pittsburgh area, targeting high school students through the use of banner ads on thousands of websites. This program also includes “remarketing,” a technology that repeats YSU’s banner ads to people who have clicked through previously to the YSU website, reinforcing our brand strength.
These customized technologies, which include an online interactive map and iPhone/Smartphone App, allow us to reach prospective students, alumni and current students—wherever they are—and offer them the next-best thing to being on campus: a virtual campus visit. These solutions are fully integrated across our website, Facebook page, and mobile devices, helping generate inquiries and increase physical campus visits, conversion rates, and more.
